Polvanera's "La Marchesana" Aglianico is a deep and elegant, easy-drinking red, with aromas of blackberry, plum and violet, enhanced by hints of licorice and leather. The palate is clean and fresh, supported by strong tannins.
Farmed organically (certified) and aged in stainless steel, this is fresh and fruity, full-bodied, affordable goodness.
Polvanera dates to 2003, when Filppo Cassano purchased vineyards in the highest of Puglia areas, Gioia del Colle. The name Polvanera derives from the dark brown/ black soil that surrounds the winery, which is built in a restored eighteenth-century historic ‘masseria’ or farmhouse. The farm comprises 20 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, certifed since 2008.
